Now that the coldest winter has slowly moving away from Brisbane, spring is approaching. There is no better event like the Ravishing Fashionistas (RF) Spring themed Fashion Runway Show. I m really happy to have attended my very first RF show in their 4th year. The show was beautifully set up at the old Government House. With multiple connected rooms including outside deck area. As a guest the venue setting makes me feel especially privileged and classy.

A little background about RF in short:

Ravishing Fashionistas, led by Upma Kite, Mrs. Australia  Universal 2019, as founder and concept creator of the RF brand. RF determines to conquer the unique concepts of embracing yourself by breaking stereotypes in the fashion industry and advocating positive body image. Their mission is to set a new standard in QLD fashion. Any woman can be a model in their own right and own their confidence irrespective of body types, background and beliefs. By supporting women of all ages, sizes and shapes, RF break through the barriers of the traditional fashion world. A big part of this is the organisation of a dynamic high-end fashion runway annually.

Unlike other traditional fashion runways, Ravishing Fashionistas is fearlessly getting rid of the stereotypes of having professional models. In that sense, real world women like you and I are the models on the runway. You can see the beautiful designer collections on women in all different heights, body shapes, skin tones, ages, hair colours and culture background. There is no standard size in this runway show. However, the standard is that all women are beautiful in their own ways. Additionally, RF is a great example of successful female entrepreneurship and leadership.

The show has certainly introduced me to so many emerging and established designers. Including Anannasa, Kablooie Store, Black N Bling, Dress for Dignity, Moreno Marcos, MIKA’s, Czarina, SFH Designs, Ette Karney, Nathalie Le Riche, and many more. Their collections are like hidden gems. Overall, I loved the collections and enjoyed the show. I am glad that more people gets to see their work through the fashion runway. Also, we get to see more passionate local models, who have done a fabulous job.

What did I wear at the fashion runway?

Finally, my own look for the show. I was predominantly inspired by the spring theme and digital prints. I embrace fast forward fashion and edgy ideas. Using digital print on fabrics makes the print looks a lot more real and vivid. As shown on the photo, my outfit prints were a combination of ‘Alice’s Wonderland’ on the top, and blue ocean wave print suits. Overall, it made me feel like I have amazing nature around me. And very different from my previous looks at the other fashion runways. Moreover, I matched the look with my favourite bag, the Balenciaga hourglass bag in classic black and gold.
