This year is a good year for Brisbane fashion, why? Because this winter is much colder than before. We are finally getting some European autumn wether and it is possible to layer different pieces together.

Recently I was invited to the Wesson boutique ‘s annual national event – Style by Wesson. Their fashion runway is very intimate and charming, followed by exclusive VIP shopping event. I have been looking for such event for a while, and I was so excited when I discover Wesson, and its heritage. The spirit of Wesson is really elegant, stylish and thoughtful as a luxury boutique in the Australian fashion land. I always felt that Australian fashion, especially Brisbane fashion is not international enough given its culture and geo location. Wesson could be the one that connects us to the world via fashion.

Wesson showcases sophisticated collections direct from Europe in their exclusive fashion event. The audiences get to discover the latest Men’s & Women’s European collections from leading fashion houses. After the fashion runway, I got to enjoy the luxury and ease of a Style by Wesson VIP Shopping Event. They offer many options to create a contemporary yet timeless look to add to our wardrobe. I have got to meet the talented owner and the gorgeous and professional stylists, and not to forget that a glass of bubbles is never missing. These events are hosted in capital cities around Australia.

Wesson exclusively stocks labels including: Hugo Boss, Roberto Cavalli, Alberta Ferretti, Monari, Reiko, Replay, Patrizia Pepe, Gran Sasso, Twin Set, Paul & Shark, Karl Lagerfeld.

A little bit of History of Wesson

From Wesson’s inception in the mid-seventies, it built its reputation as a fashion icon of Melbourne. By the nineties, there were a dozen Wesson stores throughout the city. Throughout the eighties and nineties, Wesson produced its own highly successful label and distributed through Myer and other major boutiques. The brand also produced its own exclusive suiting label from 2000 – 2004. Always firm believers in quality over quantity, all suits were tailored to perfection in Melbourne, with Geri overseeing the design, fabric selection, pattern making and production supervision, all whilst also managing the retail side of the business.
