As a regular guest blogger, it is my fifth year at Designer Q annual fashion runway show. Time flies, it is DQ’s 10th Anniversary this year. What an amazing journey it has been for the crew. More importantly, what an amazing impact it has made on Queensland fashion overall!
I always admire the effort put in to the show every year, it has toured most of the nicest event venue in Brisbane. And again showcased so many emerging and established designers in the local fashion community. The show gave fantastic exposure to some of the dedicated models, photographers and small businesses.
You can never get bored at DQ’s show. This year it was hosted at the waterfront event space where a 180 degree water view is right next to the audience. The talented designer collections wowed us again. Although I tried to capture as many stunning collections as I could, they are all amazing and unable to be ranked after all.
Some highlights of the night
I have got to know an upcoming premium fashion label Mason&Eve. Their prints reminds me the island vibe and holiday time, it is a fresh breeze from the ocean, and dream of tropical life. From the nature, to the nature, it is one of the best sustainable collections.
I also loved another ethical label Days Of Grace, they are extremely environmentally conscious. Their designs brings out the elegant and strong female character. Perfect for slow fashion lover.
I really loved the label MMOKA, a Northern Queensland based label, featuring beach lifestyle and fashion. I wish I new it earlier, I could have better beach holiday outfit, they are bright and comfortable to wear at anytime.
Taking about eye opening moment, Mila Creations was one of the highlights. The fabric, colour combination, patterns and the details are one of the kind in Mila Creations’ collections. Watching their fabulous couture made me feel glamours and exclusive.
The Spirit Bird has no doubt brings out the true spirit of the feminism of every women who can ever wish to be the star of the night at any event or important occasions. I love how elegant and well presented of their dresses.
Additionally, there are many more designers I like at the night. Including beautiful sparkly Aner The Label, super bright and trendy 7Roses, the very romantic A Romantic Soul, Mediterranean inspired PLIVATI, and many other more.
About my look of the night
I go with my own street formal look, mixing some animal prints with oversize blazer, square shaped boots, and a matching colour tone handbag designed in a unique fashion. I believe fashion is not a pretty gown can cover, fashion is an attitude and style is the language, I speak my own language in my own way as always.
