Coming back from an amazing birthday trip from Bali, I was super refreshed and happy. I wasn’t so sure if I really wanted to visit Bali at the first place even though it seems like a hot destination, then a friend of mine highly recommended, so I thought I should give it a try as my birthday is in March and it would make an easy short break from work. It is around 5 hours flight from Brisbane, Australia to Bali. The flights were not bad. My intention was to have a relaxing birthday week, so I did not prepare a long list of places to visit. And a few places I have been were really amazing,  I would like to share my experiences with you.

1. Bali Swing

You have to come to Bali Swing if you ever come to Bali, they have many different types of huge swings installed with different levels, swinging is so fun and not scary at all. You can play as many times as you want with your all inclusive ticket, not only the swings, there are so many cute spots that you can take amazing photos at, such as bird nests, huge rocks, and so on, lunch and drinks are also included.

2. Upside-down World

Another interesting place I highly recommend is the Upside-down World, if you like fun photos with friends and family, it is a good place to go. I was surprised that most of people who live in Bali for a while don’t know this place, and it doesn’t seem a lot of tour groups are going there, so it is definitely a hidden gem. All their furnitures are designed upside-down, their staff will help you take photos, they are so friendly and welcoming. I had a lot of fun with my hubby there.

3. Temples

Bali people respect their religions and traditions a lot, the predominant religion is Hinduism. There are so many temples that represent their culture and religions, I visited a few to have a feel of the power of their spiritual life. One of them is the holy spring water temple – Tirta Empul. I also get the blessing form the temple by showering myself in the holy water, it says that the water can clean evil spirits, bring prosperity and purify body and soul. After praying and washing my body from 14 different showers, I felt so fresh and blessed.

4. Civet Coffee

As a coffee junkie, there is no way I would pass by and not try one of the most expensive coffee in the world, Kopi Luwak is a kind of cat that eats coffee beans, then people collect processed coffee beans from Kopi Luwak’s poo, then roast them and make coffees. The taste? It is a little bit bitter but more soft and smooth, I didn’t put any sugar and milk in it. Some people love it for the novelty, some people criticise it as it doesn’t taste any special. To me, I just love to try all the coffee in the world. This little coffee garden also served us with so many different flavours of coffee and tea, such as vanilla coffee, coconut coffee, chocolate coffee, Bali coffee, ginger tea, lemongrass tea and so on. The staff also served us some chocolate after we finished the hot drinks. It was a great afternoon tea break.

It is not finished yet, I will post another blog sharing Bali’s hotel, food, lifestyle and fun. Subscribe to my blog via this shortcut below?, and stay turned for my upcoming posts.
